This, along with Distemperate Reality I, are the first finished paintings of 2024. They broadly represent global warming. This painting depicts the heating of the oceans, the plastic “islands” floating within, the oceans rising due to glacier melting, and the soybean-green polluted skies which are poisoned from cars, factories, and the soybean farming in the Brazil rainforests to feed the cows which also ruin our ozone. We are squished between water and air, thus making a destemperate reality!
